AMSC Update March From 29th AMSC Committee

Dear AMSA friends, It is now less than 3 months till the AMSC! I wish everyone the best of luck in organizing Pre/Post AMSC Projects and preparing for Paper/Poster and the Cultural Night!

1. Early Registration next month!

Don’t forget that the Early Registration to the 29th AMSC closes Friday, May 16th!

2. Paper and Poster Competition Guidelines

We have released the full Paper and Poster Competition Guidelines! We have been receiving questions from many countries about the 4000 word limit. We would like to clarify that it does NOT include the abstract (around 400 words) or the bibliography (no word limit).

3. Paper and Poster Abstracts due end of May

Paper and poster abstracts (Microsoft Word file, around 400 words for both and the slogan for part 2 of the poster) should be submitted by 31st May 2008. (Refer to the guidelines for details)

4. Visas

Countries that require personalized invitation letters, please contact the OC as soon as possible. Please be aware that it will take 1-2 weeks from when you ask for the letters.

5. Sub Group Moderators

Delegates interested in applying for Sub GMs, please inform your RCs by Friday, June 20. Participating as a Sub GM will give you the chance to be more involved in the academic program, increasing what you learn from your week in Japan! (Refer to the March update for details.)

6. AMSA Song Relay at Farewell Party

RCs from countries that want to be part of the AMSA Song Relay, please send an e-mail to the OC secretariat (amsc2008@yahoo.co.jp) by May 15. (Refer to the March update for details.)

7. Further Details about delegates to be submitted

We require further details about arrival, departure, pre/post accommodation, and insurance coverage of delegates. We would like to ask the cooperation of the RCs in collecting this information by Friday, June 20. (The details will be sent to the RCs.)

8. Coming up next month

We will be releasing the Background Document on the theme “Noncommunicable Diseases and Health Promotion”. We also hope to update our website with the latest information regarding the program of the conference.
